Why did you get into health and fitness?
What are your health and fitness goals?
My goal is always to build and maintain as much muscle as I can while still living a balanced fun life. My mental and internal health are my top priorities at this point. I know that when I feel my best I tend to look my best. I strive to eat healthy whole food diet the majority of the time and to workout at least 5 times per week.
I eat healthily about 80% of the time. I average between 4-6 meals per day. So do the math. 20% of my meals can include some kind of treat. That’s a lot of treats people! I don’t believe in starving and depriving myself. Also: I have complex carbs at almost every single meal!
I believe in leading a balanced life. I enjoy being fit and looking and feeling great about my body. But I would never compromise my mental and physical health for a body I can’t healthily obtain or maintain long term.
I get asked all the time for my “meal plan” and I have to continuously explain that I do not believe in a “meal plan” or diet plan. I don’t believe in strict rules of what to eat at each meal.
I do believe in only keeping certain foods in my house and treating myself to occasional goodies when I crave them. I’m not super hard and strict on myself and as a result I tend to not crave and binge on unhealthy foods as much.
What are your best health and fitness accomplishments?
The one thing I continuously feel most accomplished by is hearing from girls all over the world that in some way, be it big or small, I inspired them lead a more healthy balanced life. My career accomplishment I’m most proud of is by far becoming a part of Team NLA for Her.
Why do you love being part of the Team NLA for Her?
I love being part of a small, supportive team of strong independent women from all walks of life. I love that we are all so different but share one common interest and goal. To lead by exceptional example to be the best version of ourselves possible. We celebrate being strong women who can balance life with being healthy and fit. I love how supportive and genuine our team is. I love representing a brand that can recognize and acknowledge that in each of us. I’m proud to represent a brand with integrity that truly cares about what ingredients go into its products.
What advice or words of encouragement would you give to other women perusing their health and fitness goals?
My advice is always to start NOW. Don’t wait for Monday, or next week, or “after the holiday.” Start where you are with what you’ve got. Give yourself goals and deadlines, write them down, create a plan of attack and work towards it every day!
