HOW TO BALANCE FITNESS AND A BUSY LIFE

Raise your hand if you’ve ever woken up in the morning, completely overwhelmed by all the things you have to do.

You promise yourself you’ll hit the gym after work. But, things come up, and by the time the evening rolls around, you’ve made up some excuse to skip your workout. So then you tell yourself you’ll hit the gym first thing in the morning instead…

Is your hand raised, yet?

Let’s face it: we’re all busy, and exercise can easily end up at the bottom of our to-do list. But, this vicious cycle of “I’ll do it later” kills any opportunity of meeting your fitness goals. If we want to balance fitness in our lives, then we must make it a priority.

How to balance fitness into your busy schedule

Have you ever looked at your to-do list and purposefully skipped the most strenuous task?

You put it off…and off again until you are forced to finally do the task when you could have gotten it done weeks ago.

Yep, that’s how fitness works, too. Especially when we first start our fitness journey, our mind tells us so many excuses as to why we can’t find time to work out. Ironically, it’s not that we don’t have time; this is just our inherently lazy brain trying to get out of doing something it’s not familiar with.

To fit fitness into your life, you must make it a priority even when your mind tells you otherwise. You have to be consistent, stick to a schedule, and keep showing up every day until your brain gets on board. Eventually, you’ll learn to love it!

But, getting there can be difficult. To ease the process, try these tips for a more fitness-focused lifestyle!

Tips for a more fitness-focused mind

  • You will never prioritize fitness if you don’t enjoy your workout.

If you don’t like lifting weights or doing Crossfit, then don’t do it. It’s as simple as that. You will have a way harder time staying committed to exercise if you don’t enjoy it!

Don’t be scared to incorporate multiple workouts into your fitness regime. You can do yoga, cycling, running, and hit the tennis courts for a friendly match. Or, you can pump iron and crush it at the gym. Do whatever works for you!

  • Don’t overload yourself with tough fitness goals.

It’s great to have goals, but keep them realistic.

If you schedule a 90-minute workout Monday through Friday for three months, chances are you’re going to get burned out. Start off with scheduling three workouts per week and staying committed for a few months. Once you’ve got that down, increase your sessions.

  • Hit your workout in the morning

If you tend to ignore your evening workouts, then get them done first thing in the morning.

Yes, this can be difficult, but you’ll feel way more satisfied after you’ve smashed out your workout before the day begins. Plus, if you work out first thing in the morning, then you have a zero chance of making excuses!

  • If you don’t have time for a workout, go for a walk.

Try to incorporate at least one hour of movement into your life every day.

That may mean a gym session, a sunset walk, or multiple 20 minute walks. It’s more important to prioritize movement as opposed to heavy and intense exercise. As long as you find movement in your life every day, there’s plenty to celebrate!

  • Get some extra motivation.

Supplements are a fantastic way to avoid burnout.

If you seem to be lacking energy and motivation, try our Uplift Pre Workout, you’ll love the new Sour Peach Rings flavor. Designed to promote clean and sustained energy, as well as improved performance.  Her Amino Burner boosts energy, improves focus, and supports fat burning. Both of these products will give you the extra energy you need to stay committed to your fitness goals!

  • View every day as a new day and an opportunity to achieve your dreams.

If you missed a workout, don’t beat yourself up! Accept that today didn’t go as planned and put your ducks in a row for a better tomorrow. Every day is a new opportunity to go after your dreams. Just because you fell off the wagon yesterday doesn’t mean your journey is over!
